1975: Paul Allen and Bill Gates develop BASIC for the Altair 8800. Hello Microsoft.
1977: Apple is selling its Apple II for $1,195.
1979: Software Arts develops the first spreadsheet program, Visicalc, releases it and watches it become an instant success.
1981: The IBM PC is released with BASIC.
1984: The Apple Macintosh is released.

1973: Bob Kahn and Vint Cerf develop the basic ideas of the Internet.
1979: A UUCP link between the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University establishes USENET. The first MUD is also developed.
1982: TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol) is established.
1991: Tim Berners-Lee develops the World Wide Web. CERN releases the first Web server.
1992: the number of hosts breaks 1,000,000.
Then we have beautiful things like email, instant messaging, file transfer protocol, online gaming and social networking created. Thank god I am a robot living on modern earth. How would I catch up with all my autobot mates without Facebook and MSN?
